I’d drawn Paul McCartney so often, over and over again ever since I became the huge fan of him years earlier.  My early attempts were pretty rudimentary, but I tried and tried again.  I had to capture Paul McCartney’s likeness accurately and I wasn’t giving up.  This was him circa 1986, the way he would have looked when I captured this in pastel.

Soft pastels would have been a new medium for me back then too.  I was trying to perfect the art of using them.  They really are not easy to use, but the results are very satisfying.
