When we think of chronic illness many people envision darkness, sadness, loss of hope. This isn’t how I see it when good palliative care is in place. When we are unburdened by physical suffering and we are recognised for the unique soul that we are, we can be free.

When our body can no longer contain us, we can fly free with childlike energy.

At the end of our life, under these circumstances, we are free to look back and celebrate our life. When we first came into this world we were in a place of innocence, wonder and awe. Now we are free to let loose and return to that very special place once again.
